Animal Husbandry - Live stock population

The direct effects of climate change include higher temperatures and changing rainfall patterns, which could translate into the increased spread of existing vector-borne diseases and macro-parasites, accompanied by the emergence and circulation of new diseases. The indirect effects are attributable to changes in feed resources associated with the carrying capacity of rangelands, the buffering abilities of ecosystems, intensified desertification processes, increased scarcity of water resources and decreased grain production. This will alter the nutritional environment of livestock and the population will be affected.
